Living History Weekend May 30-31

Living History Weekend May 30-31, 2026

Join us at Lee Jackson Memorial Park for a weekend of demonstrations of Civil War life and learn what it was like to live, train, and fight as a soldier during the War Between the States.

Saturday May 30

View live Artillery and Infantry Skirmishes and explore the camps with opportunities to hear presentations from living historians and to talk with reenactors.  Saturday's activities will be Open to the Public.  Main Battle will be at 3pm.  

Sunday May 31

REENACTOR DAY.  Sunday will be a day for training, drills, and tactical battle for reenactors.  A period church service will be held in the morning.  Park is Closed to the public on Sunday.

SAT: 10 A.M. TO  5:00 P.M. (Battle at 3:00 P.M.)

ADMISSION:
KIDS AND UNDER 18 ARE FREE WITH ACCOMPANIED ADULT
18 & OLDER (ADULTS): $15 DONATION REQUESTED


LEE-JACKSON MEMORIAL PARK IS A NON-PROFIT 501C3 EVENT WITH NET
PROCEEDS FUNDING THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE PARK AND OTHER HISTORICAL PROJECTS.  WE THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!


TICKETS:
ALL ADMISSION TICKETS ARE PURCHASED AT THE GATE.
THERE ARE NO ADVANCE TICKETS AVAILABLE.

 

PARKING:
FREE.  HANDICAP PARKING OR SHUTTLE IS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.


FOOD:
ORGANIZERS MAY OFFER SOME VENDOR DRINKS AND FOOD ONSITE, HOWEVER THERE ARE NEARBY RESTAURANTS INCLUDING A SUBWAY, McDONALDS, AND FRANK'S PIZZA


WHAT TO BRING:
FOLDING LAWN CHAIRS OR BLANKETS TO SIT ON.
COVERED WALKING SHOES, WARM CLOTHING, AND CAPS.


WHERE:
LEE-JACKSON MEMORIAL PARK IS LOCATED JUST OFF INTERSTATE I-81 EXIT 200 IN FAIRFIELD, VIRGINIA.  CHECK OUR VISITING/RULES TAB ON THIS WEBSITE FOR DIRECTIONS


WEATHER CONDITIONS:
THE  EVENT WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE! IF LIGHTNING IS IN THE AREA, THE  BATTLES WILL BE DELAYED AND THEN STARTED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.


RULES FOR SPECTATORS

    - All Rules must be obeyed contained on the Visiting/Rules Tab of this website


IN ADDITION, the following rules specifically apply to the Civil War Weekend event:


  • No pets.  Cannon blasts can stress pets.
  • No Coolers.
  • No bicycles.
  • No open carry.
  • No drones unless pre-approved by Staff.
  • No one is permitted past the spectator lines during Battles.  Please monitor all children.
  • Please restrain children from running at the park.
  • No solicitation or selling of goods will be allowed unless pre-approved by Event Staff.
  • Umbrellas must be lowered during battles.


Photography and Recording Rules in addition to those above:

 

  • Audio and video recording for personal use is permitted.  Tripods  are permitted on the far left and the right in the spectator area
  • No one may cross the spectator line to take photos.
  • This  is a public event, and by your attendance, you agree that photographs  that might include you and your family are subject to use by the event  and their hosts.
  • Photography and video for commercial use require written battle staff permission
